Rakhi
TEACHER IN TRAINING
A long-term practitioner in the Theravada tradition and a certified mindfulness facilitator from UCLA’s Mindfulness Awareness Research center, Rakhi supports others in cultivating a rich and fulfilling relationship with their meditation practice.
Rakhi’s meditation journey started with a longing to unravel the complexities of her own mind and liberate herself from self-imposed suffering. Over the past two decades, Rakhi has found a deep sense of inner stability in her own life through Vipassana meditation, silent retreats, and yoga practice. She expresses deep gratitude to her teachers (S.N. Goenka, Ayya Dhammadipa, Ayya Anandabodhi, Gil Fronsdal, Diana Winston, B.K.S Iyengar) whose work and guidance continue to light the path for her.
Kaili Mang Jeyarajah
MEDITATION TEACHER
Kaili heard her first dharma teaching at a secular MBSR course during a difficult time in her life. Seeing the benefits, she started to learn mindfulness wherever she could. Her first retreat was at Plum Village in France where her family happened to be stationed at the time. She later trained for and was certified to teach secular meditation and mindfulness with MMTCP. She formed a weekly ongoing class at IONA senior services in DC that continues today. She co-leads weekly meditation classes at the DC jail with the sangha of Insight on the Inside. She met Dassanaya when it was a seed in the heart of its Guiding Teacher, and she has been a devoted supporter ever since. Kaili was formerly a corporate interior designer first in NYC and then in DC and an avid motorcycle enthusiast. Humans are her favorite animal, and after her husband and 2 sons, staying on the Path is what she cares most about in life.
